Just 10 min walk to sandy beach at Ronce, - with local shops and restaurants as well as watersports, - bike hire and tennis. Horseriding at Les Mathes, - 15 min drive. Lively resorts and beautiful beaches all along the Cô - te Sauvage offering a range of seaside activities. Enjoy a trip to the popular Ile d&rsquo - Olé - ron, - 20 min drive, - with its famous Zoo de Palmyre and a choice of prime Atlantic beaches and seafood restaurants. Royan, - 30 km has golf, - shopping, - beaches, - restaurants, - nightlife, - boat trips and a car ferry to the Gironde, - where you can visit the Mé - doc vineyards. Sophisticated La Rochelle, - 55 km. has a pretty fortified harbour with waterfront café - s, - boutiques, - gourmet restaraunts, - and a superb aquarium. A causeway takes you to the beautiful Ile de Ré - . An interesting day trip to Cognac, - 77 km, - with its distillieries, - and historic Saintes, - 55 km, - is worthwhile, - and the exciting Futuroscope theme park is 2 hours&rsquo - drive.
